PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Nashville District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for a firm fixed-price construction contract for Old Hickory, Right Bank Switchgear Replacement. The work is located in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

The scope of work for the Old Hickory Dam Switchgear replacement job includes replacing the medium-voltage switchgear that feeds the ESS building and Rockland Recreational Area. This task includes demolishing the existing switchgear with integrated transformer, installation of new equipment concrete pads, installation of replacement switchgear, installation of two 300 kVA transformers, installation of new power cables, reconnection of reusable power cables, installation of manhole and testing and acceptance of new electrical equipment and materials.

Option 1 is the replacement of the medium-voltage cables from pull box #3 to pull box #4 that measure approximately 200 ft in length per cable. The intent is to replace the cable embedded in the parking lot and install new cable starting from a manhole near the area of pull box #3 and terminating at pull box #4.

Option 2 is replacing the medium-voltage cable beginning at existing Switchgear and terminating in the Rockland Power Station Area transformers. The cable run is approximately 850 ft per cable. Connection shall start from new switchgear and re-terminate at transformers.
