Description

The requested contract action will provide IT support and maintenance for the Contractor Administrative- Budget and Financial Management (CAFM) system, Contractor Administrative-Budget and Financial Management II (CAFMII) system, and Contractor Reporting of Operational and Workload Data (CROWD) system.

CAFM, CAFMII, and CROWD are custom-built computer programs developed on a software platform called M204. M204 was first deployed to the public in 1972 by IBM. However, M204 has been surpassed by many other software packages and programming languages, and is antiquated. M204 resources are few and far between.

The IT support and maintenance being procured is primarily for unique skills and ability needed to support the custom programs on the old M204 platform. CAFM is no longer actively being used. CAFMII’s use is very limited and declining. CROWD is being descoped and the remaining functions are being migrated to the CMS Enterprise Portal.
