Interested in companies that would like to bid on mixer-settlers of similar size and performance.
Multi-Stage mixer settlers with wetted surfaces fabricated from ptfe
The project is interested in procuring six (6) mixer-settlers with total nominal flow rates ranging from 1 to 400 liters/hour. The contactors are ideally suited to solvent extraction process development work, as continuous, stage-wise, counter-current contact is achieved. Samples of each phase may be withdrawn from each settling chamber facilitating construction of phase equilibrium diagrams.
Requirements:
• Internal recycling of either phase in each stage.
• Intermediate inlets and outlets at each stage such that either the light or heavy phase may be fed into or routed out of the battery as desired.
• Various selectors, plugs, and connectors that allow operation of the required number of stages in a given battery and allow the division of the battery into several sections for extraction, scrubbing, stripping, etc.
• Construction materials include polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinylidene fluoride, and PTFE.
• Capability for inter-stage recycling, and intermediate inlets in each mixing chamber and intermediate outlets on each settling chamber. Allowing the option to operate a 4-stage module as a 1-, 2-, 3-, or 4-stage extractor, or to have 2 stages of extraction and 2 stages of stripping, or 2 stages of extraction with 1 stage of scrubbing and 1 stage of stripping; among other process arrangements.
Electronic Equipment:
• Electric Motors
o Each mixer is driven in rotation by an individual motor (41 W), top mounted type RE035G/PLG 42S.
o Voltage 24 Volts DC.
o Variation of motor speed to adjust and optimize mixing rotation speed.
o Connecting cable between motor and control rack is 3 meters in length.
o Each motor is supplied with a purge inlet.
• Main Power & Control Panel
o One control module to control the four-stage mixer-settler, comprised of:
o Main switch
o Speed digital display and setting by push buttons + or –
o Speed regulation card to adjust motor speed and optimize mixing agitation and pumping as a function of the process characteristics.
o Power supply: 115/230V – 50/60Hz single phase.
Features Included:
• Sight glass at the end of each settler to view the interphase position.
• Ability to independently adjust the position of the interphase in each settler.
• Adjustable mixer speed using an AC variable frequency drive.
• Adjustable clearance between the bottom of the mixing turbine and the top of the inlet draft tube (pump-mix design).
• Metallic and plastic coalescence grids can be placed in each settler depending upon the choice of the continuous phase.
• Covers to minimize solvent losses due to evaporation and to reduce thermal loss.
• mixer-settlers equipped with DC electric motors that have an air purge inlet.
